Watch for the release of Exhumed: Thirteen Terrifying Tales from Gravelight Press in the fall of 2020. This new collection will include my story, "The Seamstress".

Watch for the release of Heart of a Man: Men's Stories for Women from Vineyards Press. This anthology will include my story, "Gameface".

Throughout  2020 (once the corona virus lockdown is over)  Will co-host 2nd Saturday Poets at The Jackson Inn in Wilmington, Delaware with Barbara Gray and Bob Davis.

November 2019 My essay, "The Cottage at Slaughter Beach", published in 2019 Bay to Ocean: The Best of Eastern Shore Writers, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

April 2019 My poem, "Rowboat", won the Pat Herold Nielsen Poetry Prize in Chestertown River Arts Art of Stewardship contest.

March 2019 My essay, "The Blue Hydrangea" won first place in the Delaware Press Association's 2019 Communications Contest and 2nd place in the National Federation of Press Women's 2019 Contest.

March 2018 My poem, "Christmas Washington Street - 1950's" won first place in the single poem category in the Delaware Press Association's 2018 Communications Contest.

April 2017 My poem, "June Slaughter Beach; The Invasion" won first place in the single poem category in the Delaware Press Association's 2017 Communications Contest and was subsequently awarded 2nd place in the National Federation of Press Women's 2017 Communications Contest.

November 2015 I was awarded a fellowship at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts.

September 2015 My story, "Shooting Cats" was a finalist in the 2015 William Faulkner/William Wisdom creative writing contest.

July 2015 My poem, "Spring at Dames Quarter" won third place in the single poem category in the National Federation of Press Women's 2015 Communications Contest.

April 2015 My poem, "Spring at Dames Quarter" won first place in the single poem category in the Delaware Press Association's 2015 Communications Contest. My story, "Come Fly with Me" and my short-story collection, The Mud Lake Trilogy both won 2nd place in their respective categories.

January 2015 The Delaware Division of the Arts awarded me the 2015 Established Artist fellowship in Fiction.

September 2014 My story, "At the Marshfield Dam" made the short list for finalists in the 2014 William Faulkner/William Wisdom creative writing contest.

September 2014 My poem, "Spring at Dames Quarter" was nominated for the 2014 Best of the Net Anthology.

July 2013 My story, "At the Marshfield Dam" received honorable mention in Ardor Magazine's 2013 Short Story Contest.

April 2013  My story, "The Hitchhiker" won second place in the short story category in the Delaware Press Association's 2013 Communications Contest.  

January 2013  Received honorable mention in fiction in the Delaware Division of Arts 2013 Established Artist Fellowship program.

October 2012  My story, "In Less Than a Minute" was a finalist in the 2012 William Faulkner-William Wisdom Creative Writing Contest. (in the top 10 of 448 entries)

September 2012  My story, "Sanctuary" was nominated for the 2013 Best of the Net Anthology.

August 2012  My story, "At the Marshfield Dam" was a finalist in Press 53's annual fiction contest.

January 2011  Received honorable mention in creative non-fiction in the Delaware Division of Arts 2011 Individual Artist Fellowship Program

September 2010  My story "Come on, Harold" was nominated for 2011 Best of the Net Anthology.

December 2009  My story, "The Train Show" won 1st Place for Fiction in the annual Delaware Beach Life Writing Contest.

February 2008  My story, "Trumping Diamonds" won 3rd Place for non-fiction in the Bay to Ocean writing contest sponsored by the Eastern Shore Writers Association.
